Obituary
Mrs. Florence Bradford Mrs. Florence Bradford passed to the higher life Monday afternoon, March 5, at the age of 79 years and 10 months, and in her passing her large circle of friends will miss a kindly and helpful presence. For a number of years Mrs. Bradford has not enjoyed the best of health, and about a week ago she contracted bronchial pneumonia from which she was unable to rally, passing to the larger life while ministered to by loving relatives. The deceased was born in Turner, Maine, in 1843, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Thorpe. After marriage to Mr. Bradford, they continued to make their home in Turner and to them were born two children, William and Alice, who survive their mother. Her husband died 18 years ago and in the year following, Mrs. Bradford came to Dexter to make her home with her daught2r, Alice Bradford, who is principal of the Grammar school in Dexter. Cared for by a loving daughter, her last years were happy ones, and her faith in the loving care of the Heavenly Father supported her to the end. A few days before her passing she looked frorn her window and said to a friend who was visiting her, "This is a beautiful day, but there will be other beautiful days." A brief service was held from the home in Dexter Wednesday morning, Rev. B. F. McIntire of the Universalist church officiating, and the remains were taken to Turner where services were held in her old home church of which she was a faithful member, Rev. H. A. Markley, her old pastor and friend for many years, conducting the services. Interment will be in the Turner cemetery.
