HOLD SERVICES FOR JOHN DAVID RICHARD A Solemn High Mass was held Monday morning at St. Anne's Catholic Church for John David Richard, 55, who died suddenly Dec. 9, at his home on Free street after several years of poor health. Conducting the service were the Rev. David Surette of Greenville, Rev. Leo Carey of Dover-Foxcroft and Rev. Cornelius J. Enright of Dexter. Bearers were: Joseph Chevery, Benjamin Daigle, John B. Richard, Horace Poulin, Simon Robichaud, Adolphe Robichaud, all of Dexter and all former residents of Richibucto, N. B. Interment was in Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Mr. Richard was born in Richibucto, N. B., Feb. 8, 1894, son of Fred B. and Agnes (Chevery) Richard. He came to Dexter about 34 years ago and was employed at the Wassookeag Woolen Mill (Park and Barstow) as a weaver. During spare time he learned the trade of a dyer from Verne Austin. At the time of his death he was the oldest overseer at the Dumbarton Woolen Mill, where he had been employed for the past 28 years. He was a fourth degree Knights of Columbus; a Past Grand Knight and treasurer of the organization at the time of his death; a member of the local order of St. John the Baptiste; and a member of the Lions club here. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Minnie (LaFontaine) Richard; two daughters, Mrs. Bernice Landry and Mrs. Madeline Ronco; and five grandchildren, all of Dexter; two sisters, Mrs. Paulline Clukey of Dexter and Mrs,Mary Daigle of Richibucto, N. B.; three borthers, Andrew of Massena, N. Y., Alec of St. George, N.B., and Jeanbasite of Richibucto. note: article included photo
