Obituary
Edwin L. Johnson The citizens of Dexter were very much surprised to hear of the death of Edwin L. Johnson, which occurred at his home on Zions Hill, Jan. 29, after a few days' sickness of Bright's disease, followed by two shocks. He had been in poor health for the past two years. He was born Feb. 1, 1856 the son of Franklin and Martha Clark Johnson. He lived there until a young man, and married Cynthia Pike of that place forty years ago and the union was a very happy one. They lived in Cambridge a short time, and moved to Dexter seventeen years ago, being employed in the Abbott mill fifteen years. He was a good, honest, industrious man, and was thought much of by his employer and fellow employees. He was a kind and loving husband and father, always ready to help in time of need. He was a member of the M. E. church, from which he will be greatly missed. He leaves, beside his widow, one son, Herbert, two grandchildren, and two sisters, Annie B. Stevens and Lizzie Low Huff. Dear Edwin, we shall miss you, In this our earthly home, But we know that you are resting And your feet no more will roam. You were kind and patient always, Tho’ the way seemed dark and drear, Always thoughtful of your dear ones That you've left to miss you here.
