Obituary
Daniel Champeon The community was grieved to learn of the death last Thursday night of Daniel Champeon, at his home on Church street, after an illness of several weeks. Mr. Champeon has been in poor health for about a year, but up until a few weeks ago has been able to be around town. The deceased was born in Garland, December 10, 1869. In early life he was married to Nina McClellan. who survives him, besides two sons, Andrew J., Donald D., two daughters, Elizabeth I. and Hazel A. Champeon, all of Dexter; one brother, Joseph Champeon of Garland; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Smith, of Seattle, Wash; also by two half sisters, Mrs. Eva Strout of Alton and Mrs. Lydia Robbins of Alton; and three half brothers, Frank Willey of Bradford, Melvin Willey of Stillwater, and Chas. Willey of Orono. Mr. Champeon has been employed up until a year ago when ill health forced him to retire by the Merrill Trust Co. Always pleasant and sociable, Mr. Champeon will be greatly missed by a wide circle of friends. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock from the First Baptist church. Rev. C. D. Hazelton officiated. Services were also conducted by the I.O.O.F. of which Mr. Champeon was a member. The family has the sympathy of their many friends.
