Obituary	Joseph Provost Word was received Monday morning of the death in a Bangor hospital of Joseph Provost of this town. Mr. Provost was born at St. Mary's Que., on Sept. 10, 1850. In 1877, Mr. Provost was united in marriage to Sarah Poirier, who survives her husband. Of this marriage eight children survive, Philip Provost, Maurice Provost, Ovid Provost, Rose Provost, Mrs. Anna Arquin, Mrs. Corine Snow, Mrs. Frank Cleaves, all of Dexter; and Edward Provost of Sherbrooke, Que. Mr. Provost was employed as a salesman in Canada for the Singer Sewing Machine Co., for 35 years, ill health forcing him to retire. He moved to this town ten years ago, where he has lived with his family, ill, health making him unable to enjoy active life. Mr. Provost was an old gentleman of good character and was held in high esteem by his many friends, who extend their sympathy to the family. Funeral services were held at St. Ann's Catholic church Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock. The deceased's four sons, Maurice, Philip, Edward and Ovid Provost, acted as bearers.
