Obituary
Mrs. Frances Bradbury The death of Mrs. Frances Bradbury, widow of the late Albert F. Bradbury, occurred at her home on Spring street Monday afternoon. Mrs. Bradbury had been in excellent health up to the time of the shock, that occurred a few weeks ago. She was about 93 years of age and has been a beloved and respected resident of this town for many years. Mrs. Bradbury was born in Amesbury, Mass. in 1831. There she received her education and was married in 1851 to Albert P. Bradbury of Newburyport, Mass. They came to Dexter in 1861, where she has since resided. For many years Mrs. Bradbury was one of the leaders in the literary and social life of the town. She was a charter member of the Dexter Literary Club and held several offices in that organization, until a few years ago. She frequently attended all the meetings, contributing papers of high quality upon various subjects. Mrs. Bradbury was also a charter member of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union of Dexter. Mrs. Bradbury was a prominent, supporter in the Church of the Messiah Episcopal from which funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, Rt. Rev. Benjamin Brewster of Portland, Episcopal Bishop of Maine, officiating. Mrs. Bradbury's nearest relatives are an aged sister, Mrs. Annette Babson, Newburyport, Mass., and four grandchildren, Prof. John Bridgham of Mt. Vernon, Iowa, Miss Ethelinde Bridgham of Davenport, Iowa, Mrs. J. Gray Card of Somerville, Mass., and Albert Bridgham of Boston, also ten great grandchildren. The members of the Woman's Literary Club and the Woman's Christian Temperance Union attended in a body. Burial at Newburyport, Mass., Thursday afternoon.
