Obituary
Emery H. Puffer The friends of Emery H. Puffer learn with deep sorrow of his death which occurred Monday, March 3rd, at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis W. Puffer, in Corinna. He has been in failing health for some time from an organic heart disease, and the end came as a relief from great suffering borne most patiently. Everything was done for his comfort that was in human power -- his sister, brothers and parents being with him constantly, striving to ease his pain. He was born October 8, 1885 and has always lived at home with his parents and was interested in farming and poultry raising. He was very fond of plants and flowers and always had many of them in all seasons. He was a young man of sterling qualities, kind and thoughtful of everyone, especially the sick and was loved by everyone. He will be greatly missed by his many friends. He had been a member of Dexter Grange for some time. Besides his parents, he leaves two brothers, Alton and Elwin Puffer of Corinna, a sister, Mrs. Flossie Lancaster of Dexter, a niece, Arline Lancaster; three nephews, Lewis, Vaughn and Harold Lancaster, with several aunts and uncles. The funeral was held from his late home Thursday, March 6, the Rev. F. B. Allan of the Dexter Congregational church officiating. The great profusion of flowers showed the esteem in which this worthy young man was held. Two beautiful selections, Beautiful, Isle of Somewhere and Shadows, were sung by Herbert Frost and Everett Robinson. The bearers were Everett Robinson, Clifford Sawtelle, Winn and Herbert Frost. Interment was in Corinna Center cemetery.
