Obituary
William G. Briry William G. Briry, for over 40 years a well known traveling salesman, whose territory was eastern and northern Maine, died suddenly at his home on Pleasant street late last Thursday night from heart trouble, from which he has been a sufferer for several years, his death coming as a shock to family and friends. Wm. Greenwood Briry was born in Gardiner July 13, 1858. In 1885, he was married to Miss Joan Mitchell of Cambridge. Besides his wife he is survived by two sisters, Miss Ada Briry and Mrs. Alvin Raymond of Bowdoinham. For 43 years he bad been employed as traveling salesman and for about 12 years had been in the employ of Parker Thombs Co., of Portland, covering central and northern Maine, where he had a large circle of friends, who deeply regret his passing. Mr. Briry was much interested in the early history of Maine and was an authority upon many matters relating to the past of the state, es- pecially the early Indian settlements of the Pine Tree state. He was also an authority on the bird life of the state. He was a great reader and a man who was highly respected and beloved by his circle of friends here and elsewhere. Funeral services were held from the home Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, Rev, M. C. Ward, pastor of the First Universalist church of Guil- ford, officiating.
