Ralph O. Ellms The death of Ralph Ellms of this town occurred Thursday, while he was being brought to his home from the Fairfield Sanitorium, where he was taken about a month ago for treatment for tuberculosis. His condition getting worse and no hope being held for his recovery, he asked to be brought to his home and was in the way, in an ambulance with his wife, Mrs. Bertha Ellms, and a nurse. He passed away between Pittsfield and Newport. Mr. Ellms was forty-one years of age and was born in this town, the son of Albert and Louise Ellms. His mother survives him, his wife and three sons, Earl, Almond and Guy, a daughter, Arlene; also three sisters, Mrs. Charles Crawford and Mrs. Lena Hutchinson of Dexter and Mrs. Blanche Mills of Kearney, N. J. He was a graduate of Dexter high school and was a member of the Dexter Grange. His health has been failing for about a year and several months ago he was obliged to give up his posotion in the local Grange store. The family has the sympathy of the entire community. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home on the Dover road, Rev. C. D. Hazelton of the First Baptist church officiating. The bearers were Raymond Hill, Arthur Brown, Harold Weymouth and Elmer Cole. Interment was in Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
