Obituary	Nelson E. Meigs Nelson E. Meigs, the pioneer among the merchants of Dexter, died at his home on Free street Saturday night, after an illness of over a year. He was born in Madison, Conn., 65 years ago last February. Mr. Meigs came to Dexter about 40 years ago and has been in business ever since. In 1882 he married Miss Susan Wood of Providence, R. I., who survives him. In the past few years he has not been so active about the store and about four or five years ago took in as a partner, Charles Clukey, who has acted as a manager for him in his business. Besides his wife he is survived by a brother, Walter Meigs, of Madison, Connecticut; a sister, Mrs. Charles Crawford of Centerbrook, Conn. He was a member of the K. of P. and a charter member of the Dexter club.
