Obituary
MRS. NELLIE PACKARD Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Packard, 72, wife of Harry C. Packard, were held last Thursday with the Rev. Willard Conklin officiating. Bearers were: Jerome Emerson, Leslie Simpson, Alton Stewart of Corinna and Lawrence Tibbetts of Dexter. Burial was in the Nutter cemetery. She died at her home in the Nutter district on July 26, after several months of ill health. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Curtis, she was born in Dexter, April 1, 1877. Fifty years ago she married Harry Packard. Because of her ill health, they could not hold open house; but their friends who could not let the event go unnoticed, sent gifts, cards and felicitations to cheer her. Mr. and Mrs. Packard had resided on the farm, where she died, 48 years. Mrs. Packard was a charter member of the Happy Hour Club. Surviving are her husband; a son, Irving of Corinna; one sister, Mrs. Maude Tibbetts, of Dexter; and a brother, Frank Curtis of Corinna; and several nieces and nephews.
