Mrs. Iva Smith French The many friends of Mrs. Iva Smith French will regret to learn of her death which occurred Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of her father, Theodore Smith in St. Albans. Mrs. French is the widow of the late Bailey French of this town and was born in Dexter 27 years ago. The deceased attended Dexter High school being a mmeber of the class of 1917, and later graduating from Shaw business college in Bangor. During the early part of the World War she was united in marriage to the late Bailey French, who passed away a year ago in January. She was a woman of sterling character and beloved where- ever she went. She has a wide circle of friends who will mourn her passing. Besides her father, Theodore Smith, of St. Albans, she is survived by one sister, Mrs. Clifford Goulette, of this town, one brother, Forest Smith of Augusta. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at the Methodist Episcopal church, Rev. D. P. Pelley, officiating. Mr. Pelley spoke words of comfort to the bereaved, telling of the beautiful life of the deceased. The floral tributes were many and beautiful, showing the high esteem in which she was held by her many friends. The remains were placed in the receiving tomb until spring. The bearers were:Lloyd H. Hatch, Jerry Page, Almon Page and Warren K. Penley.
