Obituary
Mrs. Cora Strout The many friends in Dexter and Ripley of Mrs. Cora Strout were shocked to learn of her death, which occurred at the home of her brother, Ernest Seavey, in Ripley late Friday evening. Mrs. Strout was born in Ripley 58 years ago last May. She was the daughter of the late Lincoln and Annette Seavey. The deceased was active in grange circles, being a charter member of the Ripley grange and up until two years ago was always an officer in that order. During her grange activities she had many friends here and elsewhere, who will regret her passing. The deceased is survived by two daughters and one son, Mrs. Bertha Littlefield, Mrs. Mabel Richards and Selden Strout, all of this town, and her mother, Mrs. Annette Seavey of Ripley, one brother, Ernest Seavey, of Ripley and one sister, Mrs. Willis Percival, of this town. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bertha Littlefield, on Upper Main street, Rev. D. P. Pelley of the Methodist church officiat-ing. Many of the old friends from Ripley attended the services and many beautiful floral tributes showed the high esteem in which the deceased was held. The bearers were Monte Ellms, Del Nutter, Ora Stafford and Eugene Tripp. The remains were placed in the receiveing tomb until spring.
