Obituary	Mrs. A. L. Champeon Friends of Mrs. Ne1lie Champeon were grieved to learn of her death which occurred Sunday morning at her home on Spring street, after an illness of some duration. Mrs. Champeon is survived by her husband, Abraham Champeon, of this town, one son, Thayne, her mother, one sister, and two brothers. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal church, at 2 o'clock, Rev. D. P. Pelley officiating. Services were conducted under the auspices of the Martha Washington Rebekah lodge. The Eastern Gazette 1-22-1925, p.5 Nellie A. Champeon The many friends of Mrs. Nellie A. Champeon were pained to hear of her death which occurred at her home in Dexter Sunday, Jan. 18, after a long and painful illness. The deceased was born in Medford Center, Maine, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Weymouth and was 43 years of age. Her early life was spent in that town, coming to Dexter when a young woman, where she married Abram L. Champeon, Dec. 24, 1902, who with one son, Thayne, are left to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother. Mrs. Champeon was a noble Christian woman of lovable character and dis- position, with the highest standing of life constantly before her. By her ready sympathy and sweet Christian faith she won the hearts of all with whom she associated and her death leaves a gloom among many, beyond her immediate circle of relatives and friends. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and always an active worker for its good and was superintendent of the Cradle Roll for several years until ill health compelled her to resign. Her interest in the church and its welfare was maintained until the last. Besides her husband and son, Mrs. Champeon leaves an aged mother, Mrs. Olive Weymouth, of Maxfield, two brothers, Ernest Weymouth, of Milo and Linwood of Fairfield, a sister, Mrs. Hattie Clapp of Maxfield and a large circle of more distant relatives and friends, who have the sympathy of the entire community, in their be- reavement. Funeral services were held at the church Tuesday at 2 P. M. under the auspices of the Martha Washington Rebekah Lodge of which the deceased was a valued member, her pastor, Rev. D. P. Pelley, paying a fitting tribute to the beautiful Christian life which had been so well spent. A profusion of beautiful flowers were silent tributes to the love and esteem she was held by all who knew her. The bearers were Everett Rowell, Herert Johnson, Carroll Brown and Archie Wedlock all of Dexter. The remains were placed in the receiving tomb in Mt. Pleasant cemetery for interment in the family lot in the spring. Softly her Master whispered Enter in, thy work's well done, And gladly she answered the summons A life well spent, a victory won.
