Obituary	Sadie J. Townsend Mrs. Sadie J. Townsend of Madison formerly of this place, passed away Wednesday. evening, Dec. 24, at a local hospital in Bangor, after a long illness. Mrs. Townsend was born at Gagetown, New Brunswick, Aug. 3, 1864 and was the daughter of the late Jonathan and Hannah Thompson. She married Chester S. Townsend of St. John, N. B., July 4, 1894, and to this union was born one son, Thatcher L. Townsend of Washington, D. C. The remains were brought to Dexter Friday evening, where funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the home of her sister, Mrs. Charles H. Marsh, on Free street, and placed in the receiving tomb, where interment will take place in the spring at Mount Pleasant cemetery. Rev. Wm. Garner of the First Universalist Church officiated. The floral tributes were profuse and beautiful. She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, Chester S. Townsend, and son, Thatcher, three sisters, and two brothers, Ernest and William Thompson, Mrs. Lilla Dearborn, Mrs. Charles H. Marsh and Miss Daisy Thompson, all of this town.
