Obituary
George Ordway This community was saddened Wednesday, Jan. 13, to hear of the death of one of its residents, George Ordway, who was passing the winter in Dexter. Mr. Ordway had been in poor health about two years. Funeral services were held at the home on upper Main street, Rev. J. L. Sanders officiating. Mr. Ordway would have been 85 years of age had he lived until the 26th day of next month. He leaves to mourn his death, besides his wife, Ida V. Ordway, two sons, James M. Ordway of North Dexter and Herbert Ordway of Tacoma, Wash.; one daughter, Mrs. Malcom Colby, who was with him at the time of his death; one step-daughter, Mrs. Carrol Starbird and one step-son, David Thomas, both of Gilman.'s Corner, also one sister in Wisconsin and several grandchildren. He was a member of Co.I of the Civil war, only two left of the company of 100 men who left Sangerville and enlisted. They are Luther Farnham of Sangerville and William Farnham of North Dexter. The many beautiful flowers showed in what esteem Mr. Ordway was held by all who knew him. The bearers were Walter Farnham, Willie Farnham, Elmer Robinson and Forest Hutchinson, all of North Dexter. Interment was in the Jackman's Corner cemetery.
