BERNARD S. STEWART DEXTER - Bernard S. Stewart, 73, of Dexter, formerly of Douglas, MA, died September 28, 1996 at his home. He was the husband of Margaret V. (Virostek) Stewart. Born February 26, 1923, in Grafton, a son of the late Charles A. and Lillie Mae (Conrad) Stewart, he lived in Maine for the past 7 1/2 years, previously living in the East Douglas section of Douglas, MA. Mr. Stewart was a crane operator for more than 25 years for the Wyman-Gordon Corp., Grafton, retiring in 1985. Before that he worked for the former Hayward Woolen Mills, East Douglas, MA. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Douglas, MA and the American Legion in Dexter. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary September 21, 1996. He also is survived by two brothers, Charles Stewart of Chase Mills, NY and Bertram H. Stewart of East Douglas, MA; three sisters Gwenneth French and Virginia Stewart, both of Florida and Beryl Duprey of Charlton, MA. A funeral service was held at the Buma Funeral Home in Uxbridge, MA. Burial was in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA.
