Obituary	E. CARL CROCKER DEXTER - E. Carl Crocker, 80, died January 25, 1995 at his home on Pleasant St. in Dexter. He was born March 15, 1914 in St. Albans, son of George and Lura (Libby) Crocker. He was a machinist at the Naval Torpedo Station in Newport, RI during WWII and. then worked for many years as a machinist for Fay Scott in Dexter. He owned and operated Crocker Bottled Gas and Appliance for several years. Before his retirement he worked as operator and assistant librarian for the State Bookmobile. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter and held many offices, including Deacon. He was a lifelong member of the Dexter Grange, a 65 year member of the Plymouth Lodge; IOOF #65 where he had served. as Noble Grand, Treasurer, District Deputy and Grand Master. He is survived by his wife Wmnifred (Rines) Crocker of Dexter; a son and his wife Barry and Ruth Crocker of Hampden; a daughter and her husband Shirley and Bill Grant of Danforth; a brother Ivan Crocker of St. Albans; two sisters Nellie Tibbetts of Newport and Jeane Martin of Brattleboro, VT; five grandchildren, Trooper Matthew Grant of Medway, Kelly Crocker of Hampden, Amy Grant-Thurlow of Newburgh, Cory Crocker of Hampden and Sarah Grant of Gloucester, MA, a great granddaughter Abigail Grant of Medway, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Muriel Nelson and Thelma Patterson Smith. Friends called February 4 at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home. 238 Main St., Dexter. The Plymouth Lodge of the IOOF had a service at the funeral home. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Dexter with Rev. John Ross officiating. Spring burial will be in Crocker Cemetery in St. Albans. Those who wish may make donations in his memory to a memorial fund at the First Baptist Church, Free St., Dexter, ME 04930.
