Obituary	THOMAS R. LICKENBACK DEXTER - Thomas R. Lickenback, of Dexter, died Wednesday, March 1, 1995 at Dexter Nursing Home. He was born in Little River, Florida on August 27, 1925 the son of Thomas R. and Beulah Russell (Post) Lickenback. In 1947, he graduated from Fryeburg Academy. He was a decorated veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Navy in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater on the USS Petrof Bay - a jeep carrier. After the war, he worked for the Yield House in Redstone, New Hampshire. For 18 years, he was a licensed barber working in Portland, Bath, Rockland, and Brunswick. He became very active in the Credit Union movement starting in the 1960's. He served Bowdoinham Federal Credit Union as Treasurer, moving to St. Charles Federal Credit Union as Treasurer-Manager for 16 years until his retirement in 1984. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was Treasurer of the Maine Ice Anglers Association. He was also an artist and illustrator of wild life. He is survived by his wife Selma (Buswell) Lickenback of Dexter; one son, David and his wife Juanita Lickenback of Cranston, R.I.; three daughters and their husbands, Brenda and David Wamsley of Eugene, Oregon; Selma Jean and Jeffrey A. Lothrop of Auburn, Maine; Nancy and Jose Alers of Evans, Georgia; a sister and her husband, Joy and Charles Mayo of Ocala, Florida; a brother and his wife, Russell and Diane Lickenback of Errol, New Hampshire; 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Louise Lickenback of Bowdoinham, Maine. The deceased had requested no services. Interment in the spring will be in Bay View Cemetery, Bowdoinham, Maine.
