H. LEWIS TAYLOR, M.D. DEXTER - H. Lewis Taylor, M.D., died April 1, 1995, at a Biddeford hospital. Dr. Tavlor was born in Lewiston, April 15, 19O8, a son of Mark and Iva (Sprague) Taylor. He attended Berlin High School in Berlin, N.H. and graduated from Dartmouth College and Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, N.H. He was a graduate of McGill Faculty of Medicine in Montreal, Canada, and interned at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Dr. Taylor devoted 39 years to his medical practice in Dexter with a special devotion to his patients and served as Penobscot County medical examiner for 35 years.. He was also a member of the United Methodist Church of Dexter. He belonged to the Dexter Order of Eastern Star, the Penobscot Lodge of Masons No. 39 AF & AM, the Scottish Rite Bodies and Anah Temple Shrine of Bangor. After his retirement in 1977, Dr. and Mrs. Taylor enjoyed winters in Stuart, Fla., where he avidly pursued his love of golf. They spent summers in Kennebunk. Dr. Taylor is survived by his wife of 56 years, Geraldine Colbath Taylor of Kennebunk; a daughter, Diana T. Paine of Dexter; three brothers, Wesley O. Taylor of Augusta, Arthur R. Taylor of Saco and Stuart, Fla., and William C. Taylor of Newport; one grandson, Daniel R. Slater of Quincy, Mass.; several nieces and nephews. Memorial services were held at the United Methodist Church, Dexter, April 4, 1995. Committal services in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Church of Dexter, Dexter, Maine 04930. Arrangements are by Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk, and the Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter.
