GILBERT BUCKNAM DEXTER AND HOLLIS, N.H. - Gilbert Bucknam, 79, of Hollis, New Hampshire, died at his home April 5, 1995. He was born in Dexter, Maine January 17, 1916, a son of the late Nathan C. and Helen G. (Abbott) Bucknam. He was educated in Dexter, and graduated from high school there. He was a graduate of Boston University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. At one time Mr. Bucknam was Comptroller at Improved Machinery Company in Nashua. Prior to his retirement in 1991, he owned and was president of New England Steel Fabricators in Milford for many years. Mr. Bucknam was a Past President of the Community Council of Nashua; Past President of Nashua Country Club and at one time served as a director of the former Nashua Trust Company. Fraternally he held membership in Penobscot Lodge#39 A.F. & A.M. of Dexter, Maine, The Scottish Rite Bodies, in the Valley of Nashua, the New Hampshire Consislory 32nd degree, and Anah Temple AAONMS in Bangor, Maine. Survivors include his wife of 55 years Elizabeth M. (Barker) Bucknam of Hollis, N.H., three sons and daughters-in-law Allan G. and Joyce A. Bucknam of Hollis, Richard B. and Susan C. Bucknam of Naples, Florida, and Roger A. Bucknam and Martha Fraser of Hollis; three daughters and two sons-in-law Martha E. and John F. Brogan of Freeport, Maine, Anne M. and David G. April of Hollis and Elizabeth A. Bucknam of Hollis, fourteen grandchildren Kimberly, Kristen, Kelly, Jeffrey, Steven and Christopher Bucknam, Elizabeth, Kathleen, John, and Gilbert Brogan, Alyssa, Benjamin, Gregory and Timothy April; two brothers and sisters-in-law Nathan A. and Margery Bucknam of Suffern, N.Y., Robert F. and Virginia Bucknam of Dubois, Wyoming; two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Allan M. and Dorothy A. Barker of Nashua and Susan B. and Edward P. Moran of Bedford, N.H. and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The Davis Funeral Home, One Lock Street, Nashua, NH. is in charge of arrangements.
