EDITH WILBUR DEXTER - Edith (Crawford) Wilbur, 98, widow of the late E. Homer Wilbur, died December 27, 1993 at her residence in Dexter. She was born January 31, 1895 in Dexter, daughter of Samuel and E. Angie (Mower) Crawford. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dexter, the Dexter Grange #155 with a 75 year certificate; the Pomona, State and National Granges. She was also a member of the University of Maine Farm Bureau, a local leader of RSVP, a 4-H leader; member of the Dexter Golden Age Club. She was the first coordinator with many years of service to Meals for Me. She was the first recipient of the silver headed cane as the oldest female resident of Dexter. She is survived by a son, Dana Wilbur, of Dexter; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Barbara) Crawford of Beverly, MA and Mrs. Harold (Beatrice) Hanson of Fairfield; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, one great great grandson and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Elizabeth Carter, in 1973 and will be remembered by a special nephew who made his home with her, Gorham Wilbur of San Jose, CA. Friends called December 28 at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home 238 Main St. Dexter, Maine. Funeral services were held the follwoing day at the funeral home with Rev. Ted Smith officiating. Spring burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter. Those who wish may make donations in her memory to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O.
