Obituary
Mrs. Mary Arno Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Arno, widow of the late Benjamin Arno, were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sadie Amazeen, on Railroad avenue, where she has made her home for some time. Rev. F. B. Allan of Corinna officiated and the bearers were John Arno, Willis Arno, Raymond Hill and Donald Stewart. The remains were placed in the tomb at Mt. Pleasant cemetery, awaiting spring, when they will be taken to Plymouth, Me., for burial. The deceased was born in Dexter, 84 years ago, in a house on the Dover road. In l863 she was married to Benjamin Arno of Plymouth, and they lived in that place for 45 years, coming to Dexter in 1917, where they have made their home since. Mrs. Arno has been a woman with remarkably preserved intellect and facilities. Her reminisences of early days have made her an interesting hostess and she will be much missed by many neighbors and friends. One line of progress to which she often referred was the advance in cooking methods since her early days of housekeeping. Then she cooked everything by the fireplace and in the big brick oven, while in her last years of domestic life she used a modern electric stove.
