Obituary
Friends of Mrs. Ella Eaton, widow of the late Osgood Eaton, will be sorry to learn of her death, which occurred this morning at her home on the old Ripley road, after several years of failing health. She has always been a resident of this town, and since the death of Mr. Eaton, Mr. and Mrs. Will Downing have lived on the farm and cared for her. The Eastern Gazette 1-28-1926, p.5 Mrs. Ella Additon Eaton The funeral services of Mrs. Ella Additon Eaton were held at her late home in the Additon district Sunday, Jan. 31st, at 2 P. M., attended by a host of neighbors and friends, who came to sympathize with those who mourned, and to bear witness with the silent flowers to the love and esteem in which she was held by all who knew her. She was the daughter of Philip M. and Elizabeth Taylor Additon, and was born and lived in the same district until her death. Her age was 76 years and 6 months. Her girlhood was spent in happy comradeship with two brothers, Herbert, now deceased, and Elmer, who is the only surviving member of the parent family. At her marriage with W. O. Eaton she took on new duties as a home builder, and as a lover of home, she builded well. At the birth of a daugh- ter, Bertha, she took on the added duties of motherhood, and surrounded her daughter with a mother's loving care until she was taken to the Great Beyond, in early womanhood, and when later, she also lost her husband by death, she showed that Christian fortitude which characterized her whole life and could say, "Thy will 0 Lord be done." She was a good daughter, a faithful wife and mother, ever faithful to her church and loyal to her friends, and as an example of that faith we believe she has gone to meet her loved ones, and to hear that commendation, "Well done good and faithful Servant."
