Obituary
Funeral Services Held For C. E. Hall Funeral services for Charlie E. Hall, 42, were conducted Sunday afternoon at the First Universalist Church in Dexter by the pastor, Rev. Theodore A. Webb. The Masons also conducted their service. Bearers were: Harry Dort and Robert Skillin of this town, Philip Additon of Ripley and John Demeritt of Dover-Foxcroft. Spring interment will be in Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Dexter. Mr. Hall became suddenly ill at a Boston hotel, while on a business trip. He was removed to the Pratt Diagnostic Hospital in that city, where he died late Thursday night. Born Oct. 17, 1906, in Dexter, he was the son of George H. and Wealthia, (Katen) Hall. He received his education in this town, graduating from N. H. Fay High School in the class of 1927. For a time he was employed by the General Foods Corporation at Hoboken, N. J., and later worked for Saco Mutual as a special agent. He returned to Dexter and made general manager of George H. Hall and Sons, Inc., a position he retained until his death. He assisted in organizing a local chapter of Demolay, and at one time served as its master. A past master of Penobscot Lodge No. 39, A. F. and A. M., he was, also a member of the First Universalist Church. He served as a selectman in this town for six years, and during the war was chairman of the ration board. Surviving are his wife, Leona (Peavey) Hall; two daughters, Marilyn and Jacquelyn; his mother and father; and a brother, Guy, all of Dexter.
