Obituary
Mrs. Georgia Drew The many Dexter friends of Mrs. Georgia Drew learned with deep regret of her sudden death Sunday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Forest Cousins, in Guilford. She was born in Dexter 86 years ago. She had made her home for the past 33 years when not visiting her sister, Mrs. Henry Dexter in Dexter. Mrs. Drew was the daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth Glazier Swanton of Dexter. She was the youngest of ten children, Mrs. Dexter, the only surviving member of the family, being next to her in age. The only other near relative beside the sister and daughter is a grandson, Edwin Cousins of Portland. Mrs. Drew, although in failing health during the past few months, was able to be around the house and make a cake Saturday. She intended to come to Dexter Sunday for a visit with her sister. She was seized with an attack of illness Sunday which proved fatal, only because of her weakened condition from previous ill health. She has for many years been a devoted and valued member of the First Baptist church of this town. Mrs. Drew was a most estimable woman, her gracious personality and her friendliness winning for her a host of friends. She was long a member of the Dexter Baptist church and lived in Dexter until she went to Guilford to live with her daughter. Funeral services were held at the Cousins home Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock, Rev. Frederick Knox, pastor of the Dexter Baptist church officiating. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Dexter.
