Obituary
Eugene Nutter Funeral services for Eugene Nutter were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the funeral parlors of Ramsay and Gates Co. Rev. Kenneth R. Hutchinson officiated, and the bearers were Guy Nutter of Corinna, George Nutter, Harold Wing and Harland Wilkins of St. Albans. Interment was in the cemetery at North St. Albans. Mr. Nutter was born in St. Albans 72 years ago, the son of Joel and Irene Nutter. He was the next to youngest in a family of 12 children, 6 of whom are now living. About 5 years ago he returned to Maine after spending 21 years on the west coast. He worked in a ship yard in Oregon and as a tile setter in California for a number of years. For the past year he has been employed at the farm home of Elbridge Atwater on the Cambridge road where he passed away Saturday night following a short illness. Mr. Nutter is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Anna Lawry of Portland, Me., who is 93 years of age, Mrs. Mary McPheters of St. Albans; four brothers, Charles W. Nutter of Dexter, Walter S. Nutter of Corinna, Howard M. Nutter of Portland, Oregon, and Almon 0. Nutter of Mars Hill. He was a member of Dexter grange for a number of years.
