William Boyd The death of William Boyd occurred at his home on Spring street Tuesday morning, after failing to rally from a surgical operation. He was born in Wallace, Cumberland county, Nova Scotia, the son of Rev. and Mrs. Samuel Boyd. He learned the trade of moulder and foundryman and came to Dexter 33 years ago entering the Fay & Scott shops and has been a valued employee ever since, being foreman of the foundry for the past 25 years. Much interested in Masonry he was a member of Penobscot lodge, F. & A. M., and St. John's R. A. Chapter of Dexter, DeMolay commandery, Knights Templars of Skowhegan and Kora Temple of the Mystic Shrine. He had been through the chairs of the local bodies. Surviving besides his wife, Mrs. Catherine Boyd, are his son, Clarence Boyd, a student at Harvard, and a Daughter, Mrs. Anne Anderson, of Dexter. A sister, Miss Jennie Boyd, lives in Truro, N. S., and a brother, Samuel Boyd, in Sydney, N. S. He was one of Dexter's best citizens in every way, of fine character and disposition, held in the highest regard by all and his passing is a distinct loss to the community. The funeral will be at the residence at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon with the Masonic service by the officers of Penobscot lodge. All Masons are requested to meet in Masonic hall at 1 p. m.
