HENRY S. DOLE 1832 - 1909 Henry S. Dole was born in Georgetown, Mass. October 21, 1832, but later he lived in Lowell where he received his education in the public schools. He came to Dexter in June 1858, and was employed as a wool sorter in the Stone mill. On October 21, 1862, he married in Dexter, Georgiana Frances McClellan, daughter of Samuel McClellan, one of the early lawyers in Dexter, and Saloma Ann Green, daughter of Benjamin Greene, who holds a prominent place in the early history of the town and was a signer of the petition of incorporation. Mr. Dole was an influential citizen in town. He was a prominent Mason, member of St. John's Chapter, and member of the Universalist Society. He was a director of the Dexter Savings Bank and on the board of library Trustees, and at one time manager of the Dexter Co-operative Store. Both Mr. and Mrs. Dole were for many years prominent in most all local dramatic projects and were members of the old Oriental Dramatic Company which put on the local stage some very entertaining plays. Mrs. Dole was a charter member of the Dexter Woman's Literary Club. Mr. Dole died in Dexter Nov. 16, 1909. Mrs. Dole died February 20, 1918.
