Obituary
Mrs. Annie L. Haskell Dexter friends of Mrs. Annie L Haskell were shocked to hear of her death which occurred at her home on Sunday afternoon, after an illness of only a few days. She was born in Bangor 68 years ago. She attended the schools in Dexter, later moving to Exeter, where she was married to the late Chas. H. Haskell of this town. She has always lived at the Haskell home on Lower Main street, until recently, when she made her home with her son. While in Dexter she made many friends, who admired her strong character and kind disposition. She was a charter member of Wassookeag Chapter, No. 44, 0. E. S., and a past matron of the order and served as secretary for a number of years. She became affiliated with the Methodist church early in life and an active member of the Ladies' Aid, always serving in any way to promote the welfare and prosperity of the church. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Wilbur Worth, of Togus and a son, Dr. Harvey L. Haskell, of Dexter and two grandchildren, Hilda and Elaine Haskell. Funeral services were held from the Methodist church at 3 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Wm. H. Dunham officiating with services by Wassookeag Chapter, No. 44, 0. E. S. W. J. Coughlin, W. E. Hill, A. C. Phinney and J. H. Grant acted as bearers. The many flowers and floral emblems bore a silent testimony of the high esteem in which the deceased was held. Among those from out of town attending the service were: Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Worth of Togus; Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Pingree of Augusta; Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Grant of St. Albans.
