Obituary	Mrs. Eliza Briggs The death of Mrs. Eliza Briggs, aged 90 years, occurred last Thursday night at 8.20 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bryant in Shirley, after a short illness. The remains were brought to Guilford to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Clark. Funeral services were held from the home of Mrs. Clark on Sunday at 1 o'clock, Rev. E. Heywood of the Methodist church officiated. Rev. Dr. Ward of Guilford offered prayer. The funeral arrangements were in charge of Undertaker Harvey and burial was in Elmwood cemetery, in the family lot. Six grandsons acted as bearers. Mrs. Briggs was twice married, her first husband being John Small of Wellington, by whom her children were born, and her second husband, Elisha Briggs, of Parkman. For the last eight years she has lived in Guilford with her daughter, Mrs. Clark, spending the past winter with her daughter, Mrs. L. J. Folsom. She leaves several children, Mrs. Angie Folsom, of Dexter, Will Small, of Fairfield, Mrs. Elizabeth Clark, of Guilford, Mrs. Bertha Bryant, of Shirley, Mrs. Ida Merrill, of Portland and John E. Small; also several grandchildren. Mrs. Briggs was a woman of high character and possessed a very large number of friends. She was a useful and valued member of the Methodist church, the W. C. T. U., the Over Fifty Club, Golden Link Rebekah Lodge and Almeda Chapter, 0. E. S.
