Obituary	JOSEPH M. MOUNTAIN, JR. The entire community was saddened Sunday to learn of the death of Joseph M. Mountain, Jr., at the Eastern Maine General hospital in Bangor, the second victim of the airplane crash which occurred in this town, May 21. Mr. Mountain was born in Dexter 33 years ago, the son of Joseph M. and Lucy Clukey Mountain. He received his education in the local schools, graduating from N. H. Fay high school in the Class of 1927, and attended Bryant & Stratton Business college in Boston. Returning to Dexter he accepted employment in the Dexter Garage, a position which he held for about ten years, until he became the owner and proprietor of the Dexter Bowlaway. On November 22, 1929, he was united in marriage with Theodora Dyer, also of this town, and to them were born two children, Lane, 10, and Judith, 6. He was a past Grand Knight of Cardinal Mercier Council, Knights of Columbus, and at the time of his death was serving the council as Financial Secretary. Funeral services were conducted from St. Ann's Catholic church Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock with a requiem high mass celebrated by Rev. Raymond Berard, with the Rev. Maurice Boland of Dover-Foxcroft in the sanctuary. Members of the Knights of Columbus attended in a body. The bearers were Paul Clukey of Guilford, Merle Dubay, Everest Dyer, Frederick Mountain, Urban Mountain, and Louis Mountain, all of this town. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Out of respect to the deceased and his family, all places of business were closed during the services. The large gathering of relatives and friends at the funeral and the unusual profusion of beautiful floral tributes testified to the esteem in which he was held by all who knew him. Surviving besides his wife and two children are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mountain, Sr.; two sisters, Mrs. Delphis Higgins and Mrs. H. E. Whalen all of Dexter.
