Mrs. Oliver Crosby Many friends in Dexter have learned with deep regret of the death of Mrs. Oliver Crosby of St. Paul, Minn. Mrs. Crosby's girlhood was passed in Dexter and she always retained her interest in her old home and came every year for a visit. She spent three weeks here last summer with her sisters, Mrs. M. Louise Mudgett and Mrs. Imogene Weymouth. The following is from a St. Paul paper: Mrs. Oliver Crosby, widow of Oliver Crosby, one of the founders of the American Hoist & Derrick Co., died at her Stonebridge estate on the River boulevard early Saturday morning, June 2nd. she was 74 years old. Mrs. Crosby died after an extended illness Mrs. Crosby was Miss Elizabeth Isabel Wood of Dexter. She had lived in St. Paul 48 years, coming here from Dexter to be married. The mar- riage took place in the old A. B. Stickney home, a former landmark in St. Paul, which since has been razed. Surviving are two daughters, and a son, Mrs. Cornelius Van Ness, of New Canaan, Conn.; Mrs. Ernest T. Paine, of Ithaca, N. Y.; and Frederic Crosby, 2010 Summit avenue, St. Paul. Two sisters and a brother also survive. They are: Mrs. Elmer Weymouth and Mrs. David H. Mudgett of Dexter and H. Stanley Wood of Freeport, Me. The funeral took place at StoneBridge at 3 P. M. today. Rev. Dauglas H. Atwill, rector of St. Clement’s church, officiated. Interment was in the family vault at Forest cemetery.
