Obituary
Mrs. John W. Lufkin Mrs. Imogene S. Lufkin, wife of John W. Lufkin of Boston, passed away on Nov. 24th, after an illness of six months. Mrs. Lufkin was the daughter of Isaac and Amarilla Copeland of Dexter and during her girlhood lived at the home farm on the "South Ridge." The early married life of Mr. and Mrs. Lufkin was passed in Winchester, Mass., but in recent years they have made their home at the Hotel Brunswick in Boston, spending a part of each year in travel or in quiet enjoyment at their summer home in Wayne, Maine. Mrs. Lufkin’s life was an example of loyal devotion to her husband, relatives and friends, and her kind heart was ever ready to respond to the needs of those in trouble. She was a member of the Old South Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, the Bay State Chapter of the Eastern Star, the Daughters of New Hampshire, and the Fortnightly Club of Winchester, in all of which she took a keen interest. Besides her husband, Mrs. Lufkin leaves three brothers, Albert F. Copeland, of Bethel, Willis M. Copeland, of Everett, Mass., Dr. P. R. Copeland, of Hyde Park, Mass., two nephews, Dr. Raymond N. Copeland, and John L. Copeland, of Hyde Park. and two cousins, Miss Alice F. Copeland of Dexter and Mrs. W. H. Mitchell of Newport.
