Obituary	William H. Shaw Funeral services for William H. Shaw were held at his home in Bangor Monday at 1 o'clock, Rev. Ashley A. Smith, D. D. of the First Univer- salist church officiating. The Masonic service was conducted by the Kenduskeag Lodge, No. 137, of which the deceased was a prominent member. Mr. Shaw was born in Dexter March 6th, seventy-seven years ago. His early years were spent in Corinna, where in 1874 he was united in marriage with Emma C. Shepherd, now deceased. A year later they moved to Kenduskeag, where for 35 years he conducted a drug store. He was one of the most prominent and respected citizens of the community, serving for years on the board of selectmen and as town treasurer. He also for several years held the office of postmaster. He was prominent in Masonic circles having been a Mason for 56 years and having held office in the Kenduskeag Lodge for many years. In 1913 he moved to Dexter, where he resided for four years interesting himself in the lumber and real estate business. In l917 he retired from active business and moved to Bangor, where he has since resided, spending his summers in Maine and winters in California. He had been in failing health for several years but the end came suddenly on Saturday morning. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Walter B. Gould, and a niece, Mrs. Arthur W. Stone, both of this town, and by a host of friends who mourn his death.
