Obituary
James Stone Victim of Fatal Accident James Stone of this town was the victim of a peculiar accident Saturday evening, which resulted in his being taken to the Plummer Memorial hospital with a fractured skull, and in a serious condition. On Sunday evening it was reported that he had an even chance of recovery. While with his son, Albert Stone, Mr. Stone riding from Garland in a closed car observed a shooting star and to get a better view of the streak across the heavens, he opened the door of the car and leaned out. As he was gazing upward the car struck a bump or something occurred that caused himto pitch to the ground, striking withgreat force on his head. He was pickedup in an unconscious condition and rushed to the hospital, where he died Monday afternoon about 6 o’clock. The funeral was held this afternoon from his old home in Garland. He leaves four children, three sons and on daughter and other relatives.
