Obituary	Mrs. Romillia Bates Funeral services were held Monday at 10 o'clock for the late Mrs. Romillia Bates, whose death occurred Saturday morning at the home of her son, Justin Bates, on Pleasant street. The services Monday were at the Bates home and were conducted by Rev. Leroy A. Campbell. The deceased was born in East Sangerville Oct. 24th, 1853, being 74 years of age. Most of her life has been spent in Guilford, where she lived with her late husband, John Bates, who passed away seven years ago. Since that time she has spent many weeks each year in Dexter with her son and last spring, owing to failing health, came here to make her permanent home. Mrs. Bates was an honored and much beloved member of the Over Fifty club of Guilford, the club sending a beautiful floral piece to the ser- vices. Another beautiful offering of flowers from among the many at the funeral, was sent by the neighbors of the deceased in Guilford. Interment was in that town, where the husband and infant daughter are buried. The only near relatives surviving are the son in Dexter, Justin Bates, a grandson, Clarence and a brother, Alanson Campbell, of Elbe, Washington, besides nephews and nieces in the West.
