Obituary
Mrs. Laura E. York The death of Mrs. Laura F. York, formerly of Dexter, occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roy Weeks in Corinna, Friday, June 24th. The deceased was the widow of the late Herman York and was born in Shirley, the daughter of Elizabeth and Jabus Pulcipher. She was 60 years of age. Nearly all her life had been spent in Dexter, coming to Corinna about three years ago, where she has been tenderly cared for by her daughter and son-in-law. Although she had been in ill health for some time, her death came very suddenly. Mrs. York was a sincere Christian woman and was loved and respected by all who knew her, many friends will be sorry to hear of her death. Besides her daughter, Mrs. York, she leaves to mourn her death, one son, Leroy York of Exeter, three small grandsons, Robert, Arllyn and Philip Weeks, to whom she was espec- ially devoted; two brothers, L. C. Pulcipher and A. L. Champeon of Dexter; two sisters, Mrs. Della Abbott of Kingston, Pa., and Mrs. Elbert W. Beane of East Corinth; besides a large circle of distant relatives. Funeral services were held at the home, June 27, Rev. H. D. Knowles of Corinna officiating. There was a profusion of beautiful flowers. The bearers were the son and son-in-law, Leroy York and Roy Weeks, the two brothers, L. C. Pulcipher and A. L. Champeon, and the brother-in-law, E. W. Beane. Interment was in Mt. Pleasant cemetery in the family lot.
