Obituary
Mrs. Mary Williams Mrs. Mary Williams passed away early Saturday morning at her home on Pleasant street, the news coming as a shock to her many friends who were unprepared for her going, although she has been in poor health for many years. During the long illness of her husband, the late Capt. John Williams, whose death occurred only a few months ago, Mrs. Williams cared for him most faithfully and never recovered from the strain of her long service. She was 79 years of age and has lived nearly all her life in this town except for a few years in Portland, where she served as glove fitter in Rhines Brothers' store, before her marriage. The deceased was a faithful member of the local Methodist church, after first joining a church of that denomination in Portland. She was a woman of unusual culture and refinement, a kind neighbor and a good Samaritan to many unfortunate ones who sought her home. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. W. H. Dunham of the Methodist church officiating. The bearers were: Albert Keyte, J. H. Grant, Nathan Daggett and Wilbur Gerry.
