Obituary	Mrs. Estella J. Gordon This community was deeply saddened to learn of the death of Estella J., wife of James B. Gordon, Wednesday afternoon, April 20th, following a short illness from pneumonia. Mrs. Gordon was a woman deeply loved by all who knew her, always eager to help anyone in trouble and ever ready with a cheerful word and cheery smile. She was born May 7, 1856, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Lane) Oliver. She was educated in the Dexter public schools. Nov. 13, 1877 she was married to James B. Gordon of Pittsfield. They made their home in Pittsfield for several years. In 1886 they settled on a farm in the eastern part of Dexter where they lived until seventeen years ago when they moved to North Dexter, establishing a general grocery and feed business here. Mrs. Gordon will be missed by her husband not only as a partner in his home but also in his business. Besides her husband she leaves three daughters, Mrs. Frank Watson of Parkman, Mrs. Walter Eaton and Mrs. Erma Flanders of Dexter and one brother, Cassius Oliver, also of Dexter.
