Obituary	Walter Briggs Walter Briggs passed away at his home on St. Francis street Friday night, after an illness of two weeks. The deceased was born in Parkman Feb. 6, 1857, the son of Arvida and Louise Bennett Briggs of that town. Mr. Briggs formerly resided in Ripley, although the greater part of his life was passed in Dexter, where he was employed in the mills. The deceased was a man with a wide circle of friends, who held him in the highest esteem. He was a seventh degree member of the Grange and a member of the local Spiritualist association. He is survived by a widow, Mrs. Arvella Crowell Briggs who has much sympathy in her be-reavement. Funeral services were held from the home Monday afternoon, Mrs. Mary Drake Jenne of Etna conducting the services. The remains were placed in the receiving tomb at Mount Pleasant cemetery and will later be interred in Parkman.
