Obituary
Robert Wood We were very sorry to hear of the passing away of Robert Wood, at his home on Pleasant street, Jan. 28th, 1928. He was 53 years of age. He had been sick seven weeks with dropsy. He came to Dexter twelve years ago and married Mrs. Emma Richards. He was a loving husband, and kind father, to his family of six step- children. He loved flowers very dearly. That was his pet hobby, always willing to share them with his neighbors and friends. He has won many friends with his kind and sunny disposition. We all loved Bob, as he was called. In his younger days, he followed the sea for eight years. The beautiful flowers the neighbors gave, show in what esteem he was held by them. He leaves besides his wife, six step-children, three sisters, Mrs. Annie Calson, St. John, N. B., Mrs. Herbert E. Preble, Millinocket, Mrs. Edith M. Garland, Bar Harbor, and two brothers, William W. Wood, Brewer, and Edward J. Wood, Ellsworth. We extend our sympathy to the family and may God be very near them at this time. Dear Bob we shall miss you. We shall miss you every day; But we know that you are resting And your feet no more will stray. You were always kind and thoughtful, And your work on earth is done. You have gained a port called heaven You will meet your dear ones one by one. You have gone to live with Jesus In a home so bright and fair; You will feel no pain or sorrow And flowers are always blooming there. C. T.
