Obituary
Herbert W. Blaisdell Funeral services for the late Herbert W. Blaisdell were held at the home on Pleasant street Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. W. H. Dunham of the Methodist Episcopal church officiating. The bearers were: Walter Fish, Albert Bentley, Cleveland Davis, R. L. Killman, Ernest Farrar and Carl Olsen. The floral offerings bore silent tribute to the respect in which the deceased was held. Interment was at Mt. Pleasant cemetery in the family lot. The Eastern Gazette 12-19-1929, p.5 HERBERT W. BLAISDELL 1865 - 1929 Herbert W. Blaisdell was born in Burnham, Maine, December 5, 1865, and died in Dexter, December 11, 1929. Before coming to Dexter he had been employed by the Maine Central Railroad at Belgrade for about ten years and he held the position of station agent, for that company at Dexter for thirty five years. He married Miss Eva E. Mosher and they had one daughter Gladys M., who was born in Dexter, May 21, 1899 and died on March 21, 1910. Mr. Blaisdell was a member of Plymouth Lodge and had served as treasurer of the Methodist church. Mr. and Mrs. Blaisdell had spent several winters in Florida and this year they had made their plans to start south on Wednesday, December 12, but he was taken suddenly ill on the evening of the 11 and passed away about four o'clock on Wednesday morning. A man of sterling character and kindly disposition Mr. Blaisdell was admired by all who knew him. His friendly manner and accommodating services made him held in esteem by the traveling public to whom he was a familiar figure. The Eastern Gazette 8-17-1944, p.3 (LHC)
