Obituary
Charles S. Eldridge The remains of Charles S. Elridge were brought here Wednesday morning from his home on Roslindale, Mass., where he after two years of failing health. Committal services were conducted at Mt. Pleasant cemetery, Rev. Wm. J. Metz, pastor of the First Universalist church, officiating. Funeral services werq held at the home in Roslindale, Mass., Tuesday afternoon. The deceased was born in Windsor 56 years ago, the son of Benjamin F. Eldridge and Ella Hewett Eldridge. His parents were among the old Dexter families, the name Eldridge having been associated with the town since its inception. Mr. Eldridge was married to Kate Wright of this town and during their early married ilife, made their home in the Eldridge homestead on Free street, now owned by P. S. Plouff. Mr. Eldridge was a graduate of Dexter High school in the class of 1892, and Bryant & Stratton Business College of Boston. For 26 years he had lived in Roslindale, Mass, being employed by the Boston Plate Glass Co., where he was held in high esteem. Besides his wife, Mrs. Kate Wright Eldridge, he is survived by two daughters, Misses Katherine and Charlotte Eldridge, and by one sister, Mrs. Roscoe Downing, of Waterville. The family has the deep sympathy of many friends in this town.
