Obituary
Miss Helen Eldridge Funeral services for the late Helen Eldridge were held Monday afternoon at 2.30 from the home of her sister, Mrs. Fred O.. Herrick, on Free street. Rev. William J. Metz of the First Universalist church officiated and the bearers were: Arthur P. Abbott, L. C. Shepherd, L. B. Waldron and Nathan Daggett. Interment was in the family lot at Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Miss Eldridge was born in Dexter 62 years ago, the daughter of the late Samuel and Ella Shaw Eldridge. She was educated in the Dexter schools, graduating from the High school in the class, of 1885. After attending the Beal Business College in Bangor she went to work there, her last position being with the Charles Hayward Co., where she was employed for many years. A year ago she resigned because of ill health and has since last May been a patient at the Eastern Maine General hospital in Bangor, passing away there Friday night. The remains were brought to Dexter Saturday and taken to the Herrick home. The deceased is survived by her sister Mrs. Herrick, and a brother, Harold Eldridge, of Northport, L. I., who arrived in town Saturday night.
