Obituary
Geo. F. Kimball Geo. F. Kimball, an old and highly respected citizen of this town, died Saturday morning as the result of injuries received in an accident. Last Thursday afternoon, Mr. Kimball was returning from Ripley with a load of boards on a low, one-horse jigger wagon. At the spring in the woods he stopped and watered the horse, and as he went to get back on the seat of the wagon, the horse started up, throwing him to the ground. Both a front and a rear wheel passed over him and bolts underneath the wagon body caught his clothing and dragged him some distance, before letting go. Allie Randall found Mr. Kimball a few moments later, still conscious and after doing what he could to aid him secured a car and brought him home, a doctor was summoned and found he was badly hurt, with broken ribs, crushed shoulder blade and other injuries. Fred Kimball, as he was generally known, was born in Bradford, Feb. 15, 1850, but lived in Dexter most of his life, where he owned a farm for many years and did a great deal of trucking around town. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from his late home on Pine street, Rev. William J. Metz, officiating. The large number of friends present and the beautiful floral offerings showed the high esteem in which he was held. He leaves a widow, Lucy A. Kimball, a son, Victor P., a daughter, Mrs. Harold Wilson, a grandson, Robert T. Wilson, all of Dexter and a half brother, Eugene A. Kimball, of Angonia, Wis.
