Obituary
Willie L. Tewksbury The many friends of Willie L. Tewksbury were saddened to learn of his death on Thursday night, April 25th at 7 o'clock following a short illness of blood poisoning, at the Plummer Memorial hospital. Mr. Tewksbury was a man of sterling character and has a host of friends who regret his passing. The deceased was born in Belfast October 15, 1875, the son of William S. Tewksbury and the late Estelle Campbell Tewksbury. Forty-one years ago the family moved to this town and the deceased has always lived here since. For over 25 years he has been in the employ of the Amos Abbott Woolen Co., where he has always been an expert in his line. Twenty-three years ago Mr. Tewksbury was united in marriage to Alice M. Ordway of Exeter. He was a graduate of N. H. Fay High school with honors and attended the University of Maine for one year. He was a kind neighbor and will be sadly missed in the community on the Dover road, where he resided. He was very prominent in Odd Fellow circles, having been a Past Noble Grand of Plymouth lodge and Past Chief Patriarch of Silver Lake Encampment. At the time of his death he was financial secretary. Besides his wife, Mrs. Alice M. Tewksbury, he is survived by an aged father, William S. Tewksbury, of this town, three brothers, Aaron and Ralph Tewksbury, of Dexter and Ervin, of Parkman, by two sisters, Mrs. Ella Huff and Mrs. Carrie Lancaster, both of Dexter. The family have the sincere sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their bereavement. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2.30 o’clock at the First Baptist church, Rev. W. H. Johnson officiating. The Odd Fellows and Rebekahs attended in a body.
