Obituary
Mrs. Mary Goodhue News of the death of Mrs. Mary Goodhue of this town and Fort Fairfield came as a shock to her friends here Sunday afternoon. She had been ill for less than two weeks and was taken to the Plummer Memorial hospital Friday, where she underwent a surgical operation. Mrs. Goodhue was born in Dexter 71 years ago and after her marriage to the late Herbert M. Goodhue, of Fort Fairfield, resided in that town. Since her husband's death, it has been her custom to spend her summers in Dexter with her sister, Miss Sarah Winslow, on the old homestead on Zion's, Hill. Mrs. Goodhue is survived by a son, Harold Goodhue, of Lexington, Mass., a daughter, Mrs. Stetson H. Hussey, of Mars Hill, by four grandchildren, Mary Lucia and Teddy Hussey; and Paul and Helen Goodhue; three sisters Miss Sarah Winslow and Mrs. Annie Murphy, of Dexter and Mrs. Herbert Trafton, of Augusta; two brothers, Waldo Winslow, of Dexter and Dr. John D. Winslow, of Westbrook. She was a member of the First Universalist church and of Rebekah Weston Chapter, D. A. R., of Dexter. Many friends extend to the family their deepest sympathy. Prayers were said at the Winslow home Monday forenoon at 10 o'clock by Rev. William J. Metz after which the remains were taken to Fort Fair- field, where funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Congregational church., Mrs. Goodhue's son and daughter were in Dexter at the time of her passing and accompanied her remains to Fort Fairfield.
