Obituary	Mrs. S. M. Leighton Friends of Mrs. Laura Leighton, wife of S. M. Leighton, will regret to learn of her death which occurred Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at her home on Zion's Hill, after an illness of several months. Mrs. Leighton was born in Garland Sept. 10, 1852, the daughter of the late Jacob H. and Mary Bates Haskell, and lived there until she was married in 1885 and came to Dexter. She was a woman of sterling character and was much devoted to her home. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Miss Bertha Leighton, three brothers, Samuel B., of West Garland, J. Freemont, of Garland, George W., of Haverhill, Mass., and one sister, Mrs. Mabel Moore, of Hyde Park, Mass., also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held from the home Friday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock, daylight saving time, Rev. Wm. J. Metz officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
