Obituary
Mrs. Etta Carsley Dexter friends of Mrs. Etta Carsley of Westbrook were sorry to learn of her sudden death at her home there, Sunday, July 6th. The remains were brought to this town and funeral services were held last Wednesday afternoon from the home of her sister, Mrs. Carrie Safford, lower Main Street. Mrs. Carsley was born in Rip- ley, 66 years ago, the daughter of the late Sewall and Mary Nason Lane. Until ten years ago she lived in Ripley and Dexter. Her husband, John Carsley, survives her, a sister, Mrs. Carrie Safford, of this town, a brother, Walter Lane, of Shawmut, Mass., also two nephews, George Safford of Dexter and Frank Lane, of Shawmut, and a niece, Mrs. Mildred Upton, of this town. The services were conducted by Rev. Arthur J. Hamilton, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church, and the bearers were Menza Sampson, Eugene Sampson, Manville Russell; and Daniel Lane. The deceased was a member of the Pythian Sisters in Westbrook and an attendant of the Methodist church.
